[Otome Game Intro] Shall We Date?:”KONKATSU”for Marriage

Title: Shall We Date?:”KONKATSU”for Marriage /ドキ×2★婚活パーティ (Doki Doki Konkatsu Pati)
Creator: NTT Solmare
Release Date: 09.20.2011
Genre: Romance, Slice of Life
Other information: Only avaliable for I-Touch/I-Pad/I-Phone It’s available in English / with Japanese option too I believe. I am playing the English version, so there are some differences in the Japanese version (as in content/translation crossovers)

Summary: You play as an OL, and one day your friend Koume invites you to sign up with her to this Marriage Website. Since you’re both feeling pressure from peers and whatnot – you decide to go and meet other people who you might potentionally marry.

Review: Still playing this game, which is why this is an intro.;;

System is the same, the whole sparkle event if you get the right answer, no saving, gallery, and the mail system. The only thing is that the mail system was much more …believable for obvious reasons, such as being in a modern setting.

First purchase gets you three guys and the second more expensive additional purchase gives you the other remaining three.

However easily I can say that their first game was much better, not only in the stuff you get for the price – but amount of CGs, endings, and even number of obtainable guys.

Although the stories are still cute and simple, I thought it would go a step up from their last game…which it really didn’t. Nothing wrong with the simple storyline, but really just the amount of content difference for the price you pay. So I know this can be in issue for some people, so if you’re debating on purchasing just one of the NTT Solmare games…I think if you want more for what you pay for Heian Love (over Ninja Love as well) is better.

The most FRUSTRATING however is the fact that the whole one happy ending for each guy (or you get the normal ending version for the guy where you’re alone) – is extremely strict. Also to add onto the fact that you can’t save in this game – just means you have to play-through it many times. At least with Heian Love – you could just end up with maybe three or four different endings…but here it’s either marriage or you end up alone.

However it’s another laid back type of game, so something simple to play that you don’t want to get so caught up by it.

Currently they are transferring their older games to Android as well, so although this isn’t avaliable for Android – in the future you’ll probably be able to play with this game if you own one.

  1. most android games like this all seem to come through GREE. It’s like they purposely do it so that anyone outside Japan can’t play it. I’ve pretty much given up hope for global otome games ^^;

    I adored Ninja Love though. I liked the fact that since you chose a guy at the beginning, you are able to get a different plot for each character. Lol for the emails though. Maybe if they said carrier pigeons, it wouldn’t have been so out of place?

    Apparently, the extra characters will have a completely different plot altogether, which I’m excited about. It’s annoying that the extras are more pricey than the game itself though.

    I’ll try Heian Love next, just because of your rec, but the storyline doesn’t seem as much fun in comparison next to awesome ninjas ;)

    I’ll avoid this one then, unless they have a really good sale on it. Gotta try and support otome games where we can.

    xD this is purposely advertised to Android as well in English too so I’m sure it could work, but I think it’s best if you stick to your backlog since this is really something simple

    I felt the same with Heian Love about the pigeon thing too haha~

    I actually prefer storywise Ninja Love out of them all though since Heian Love can be boring. I sort of really recommend it for the price/amount of story and endings you get.

    :D If you’re in the mood to play something modern then this is fine…although honestly I think saving and purchasing a DS otoge or PSP one is better for handheld haha~

    Unfortunately, I can’t read Japanese for the life of me, so the ones that are actually translated to English brings me great joy.

    I did end up buying Heian Love, but I only liked three of the guys anyway, and couldn’t be bothered getting the extras. I did cave and buy the extras for Ninja Love, and am obsessed with it. I think the reason why I liked it so much is that it was spicier- more implied sexual scenes made it that much more fun.

    Solmare came out with a new game a few days ago too: ‘Shall we date?: My Sweet Prince’, and it’s about…. dating a prince XD
    I’ll probably be weak and buy that one in the next few days too unless I read a review that suggests otherwise, but man, these games are bad for my wallet.

    Thanks for the headsup! I actually went ahead and purchased it xD ;; although I’m not sure if I’ll buy the extras yet…so far I’ve been playing Ninja Love and ahh so tempted since in general I do like the story better.

    I haven’t played enough of it though besides just past the prologue, but it seems it’s the same artist as Ninja Love.

    You have convinced me- I really like the art of Ninja Love, and if it’s more of the same… I’m sold. ^^ Another dent in the wallet, since I’ll be buying the extras if I like the main story line enough.

    The extras for Ninja Love are so worth it- Munenori is officially my favourite. I’m still sad that Hanzo wasn’t an option. Although the threat of Kuma sort of makes up for it- I’m not sure if he’s worth a broken back.
